Responsible for analyzing incidences and their causes, making any corrections necessary in programs and/or the data to solve them.
We have two types of maintenance:
Corrective: Programs are modified without altering their functionality
Preventive: Programs are modified to eliminate or alleviate problems that may arise in the short term without altering their functionality.
Applications evolve through changes in their functionalities. The requirements are validated, the changes made, integrated, tested and documented prior to sending them to production. Here, we have three possible types of upgrades:
Evolutionary: Upgrades to meet user demands.
Adaptative: Upgrades to respond to changes related to new requirements.
Perfective: Upgrades to perfect functioning.
